Sound theater

Get life on the lakes into your ears

The cruise

A sailing sound theater piece
Sejladsen is a sailing, musical theater story in Denmark’s most beautiful scenography. You experience the story while sailing on one of Hjejleselskabet’s non-stop boats, and the water and surroundings are used as scenography.

You sail in the wake of Frederik VII and Countess Danner, along the way experiencing the words of H.C. Andersen, Hostrup, and Caroline Pedersen about how Silkeborg and nature are an ever-flowing source of inspiration. You smell the bargemen’s cabbage, feel the resistance fighter’s heart beat, and hear the music of the water. The story blends historical reality with folklore and music.

“Sejladsen” is created by Magistraten and recipient of Silkeborg Municipality’s cultural award, Tommy P Nielsen, in collaboration with Hjejleselskabet. It’s an engaging, sensory-rich narrative that immerses you in the events, exploring the past, present, and how everything flows together on the Silkeborg Lakes. Get ready for a unique experience in Denmark’s most beautiful surroundings.
